Aggressive advertising?

Post by l3gsl0v3r » Thu Apr 26, 2012 5:00 pm

Hi all,

First - thanks for running such a great board. Don't want to come across as a moaner - so want to balance what I say next with something positive :D

Have there been some changes to the ads you guys are running? Have now been redirected completely away from the site a couple of times to an "ad.foc.us" page - just when loading the main forum index - without clicking anything in the banner at the top.

I've temporarily blocked content from lijit.com - and the naughtiness has stopped.

Is this a misbehaving advertiser hijacking your pages?

TIA.

Legslover.

I'm sorry, that was my fault, I was experimenting with a new ad, I took it down again, now it should be running smoothly again.
Can someone please confirm this? thanks

€dit: no, it wasn't Lijit, you can untag them again, it was another ad.
Maybe you noticed that the ad at the bottom of the page is no longer there. This is due to the ad company having stopped to serve those kind of ads. thats why I am currently looking for alternatives.
If anything like that happens again in the future please dont hesitate to post it in here, I would be very grateful. I dont see this as moaning, no worries ;)
I just want to make sure that this forum can survive in the future aswell without having to go back to bad hosting.

Regards

Bummer - looks like it's back again. Twice today, have had the same redirects to the same ad.foc.us site. :?

Same here, and it doesnt re direct you back to here either. I have to keep closing my browser and trying again to get onto the forum, sometimes it takes several tries to get on here.
