Pixhost.org issues

Post by GoldenEagle666 » Wed Mar 28, 2018 2:55 pm

I've been experiencing issues with viewing images on pixhost.to for the last few days. It's reporting that the server isn't found and nothing is able to ping it, the domain name is still valid though until November.

Anybody else experiencing issues with the site?

All other sites are working without any issues.

Thanks Gaz. When viewing images now I'll have to remember to change to the new domain root

I had wondered what was wrong. Thought maybe it was something at my end.

As someone lacking in tech skill, is this simply a case of me having to open each link and change the url in the address bar? Or is there some more efficient way of doing this? Does this also mean that there's no way of seeing the image thumbnails in the threads?

Thanks in advance for any help

If you open each link and just change the address to pixhost.to instead of pixhost.to

If you're able to get someone to assist you in changing your hosts file (located in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc) you could put the following entries in:

104.25.139.7 pixhost.to
104.25.138.7 pixhost.to

This will then divert any links for pixhost.to through to the servers for pixhost.to and should allow you to view the thumbnails in the threads

Posters would be able to edit their threads too and amend the URL's, if they wished.

PM me if any issues or questions.

Frankly I can't be a***ed to edit any of my posts or my hosts file. Glad I finally gave up capping after my recent computer problem; too much hassle with constant screwing around with image hosts

No need to change links or host files, we are able to change all the links on the forum.

Thanks Gaz.

I spend most of my time dealing with DNS issues and so I frequently have my hosts file open, which is why I suggested it. I'm just more thankful to know that it's not me being an idiot or my ISP not doing forward lookup zones correctly.

Hi Gaz.

Is there anything that can be done retrospective to see all previous caps linked to pixhost.to or would we have to change each image link to pixhost.to to see the image? The thumbnails in the threads for pixhost.to still don't work so I'm not sure if I should be doing something or if this is being dealt with at Forum level.

Thanks for your help.

I don't get any of those issues using Chrome.

Not being a dinosaur at all. I upgraded my PC from Windows 10 to Windows 7 and all is working nicely now. I did the same when my wife had Windows ME, I upgraded it to Windows 98 Second Edition and that was perfect.

Does your anti virus still support XP?

Incidentally I'm getting a new PC this week with Win 10. I know it's not the best OS ever and forces updates, but still prefer it over XP.

I like XP and I am too tight to pay out for win 10 on this old duffer of a pc. Chrome tells you it won't update anymore due to me using XP.
