Get yourself a Freeview DVB-T dongle, costs £15-25 from Amazon, record some stuff & frame capture. The software that comes with it will usually do, although everyone has their own preferences (and I just can't get most stuff to work). Make sure it says it works with Windows 7/8 though, many don't (or didn't used to, and very few are HD).
