I won't pretend that I was a fan of his playing, but I just heard the news and was saddened to hear it.

Funnily enough, neither was I. Too many show-offy, fiddly, niddly listen-to ma-geetar bits to his playing :-S Although, Gary was great in Skid Row and Thin Lizzy...

Never top of my shopping list but have a couple of Skid Row albums and two of his later works on CD. Just sad that has gone too soon.

God Bless.

Sad news indeed I did enjoy a number of his albums especially the bluesier ones and his work with Thin Lizzy. Another gone much too early.

Truely 1 of the greatest Guitar players that ever lived..and I say that as a huge fan of all his work.

The Rock World has lost a Genuine Legend.

Take your place in the heaven's above with Phil...and Rock out Gary.

Much maligned for his 'Infinite Note' holding and perseverance for all things 'Blues' in his later career.I grew up listening to a very different Gary Moore. In 1978 he played all of the guitar parts on the Andrew Lloyd Webber album,Variations.Famous for sprouting the 'South Bank Show' theme but so much more than that.Gary play's acoustic, semi acoustic and electric guitars on the album and in many varied styles including,Folk,Rock,Jazz,Classical and yes,Blues too! If you're a fan then you must hear it,you'll probably hate the album but love Gary's playing but then it's only 32 minutes long, give it a whirl and see what this guy could do with a guitar when the genre shackles were off! :)

Dreamlander-RIP...no...RIV...Rest In Volume!!!!!! :D
