Sky News

Post by jasper » Sat Mar 12, 2011 9:36 am

I know Sky has a certian reputation for over-cooking things but surely Mark Longhursts 'performance' on todays Sky News sets a new level. He's been covering the quake in Japan and every single sentence he's uttered has been hysterical.
Kent Brockman could take lessons from this bloke.
He's just asked an aid worker if she's ready to work in an area whilst breathing in nuclear fallout.
& whats the point of inviting an expert onto the show and then shouting him down when he tries to inject some calm into proceedings?
a report on the effect of supermoons is probably coming next.
later today i fully expect Sky to tell us that zombies have starting walking the streets.

The result of 24hr news channels is a big drop in quality.

That is a understatement, Fox and CNN used to be good at one time, but now they are terrible, its all about the back stories like any one give a t*ss, people selling cr*py books, musical guests who sound rubbish and that old f*rt from the radio interviewing people on tv in a mock radio studio what is that all about.

You have that Anderson Cooper,Glen Beck, ahampor bird who are just as bad in hyping up the stories/reports.

There a few good reporters and presenters on the 2 channels but not that many, Shepard Smith he is good.

Stopped watching sky news ages ago its was worse then the US news channels.

Rant over

I hate Longhurst and Boulton, they bring on guests, ask them questions and as soon as they start to answer its 'ah' ,'but', 'oh','ah', constantly trying to butt in all the time.

Very true & agree with the above statements, had to get batteries for the remote as the "Mute" button works overtime

Boulon is not as bad as O'Reilly, he's freaking hilarious, and a complete tool

The problem with any 24 hour news channell is the continual reapting of the same stories, it would be like watching the same film all day, after a while it would become incredibly boring.

Remember all those years ago when we used to be in hysterics at 'The Day Today' with the genius that is,Chris Morris? Turns out it wasn't an outlandish satire but a 'Nostradamus-like' premonition of what Sky news was to become! :D

Dreamlander, I do remember they would not show Brass Eye in the US.
