Transformers 3 dark of the moon

Good special effects, but not much of a storyline.

The Conspirators - Robert Redford's movie about the trial of the assassins of Abraham Lincoln, but focussed on Mary Surratt who owned the lodging house they met at. It looks great, well acted, but pace is ponderous and the metaphor for today is sledgehammered home.

The Messenger, with Woody Harrelson. About an American officer and sergeant who go round telling families that their loved ones have been killed in action. Grim as it sounds. Superbly acted (Harrelson got an Oscar nom) but nit recommended if you're in a down mood..

Harry Potter - the Deathly Hallows Part 2

One of the better films to come out this year, potters fans will not be disappointed with the film.

Good FX and as a real plot/storyline, it wasn't exactly like the book, but they kept it pretty close.

Dead Riots

The less said the better, low budget zombieish horror film kind of, not one you would watch a second time.

Ironclad

About the defence of Rochester Castle against King John & his subsequent deposition, very gory but covers an overlooked period of British history - I enjoyed it

I found Ironclad great fun but slightly confusing - it was a mix of very realistic ideas - the defence of the castle with so few people, the actual moves & blows used in combat - and the typical Hollywood exaggeration - too much gore, and people taking insane numbers of blows & still going.

But generally a very good film indeed.

In my unceasing quest for good (and bad...) Asian horror, I watched Ghost Game. This is a great idea, they should do it for real. It's a film based on a reality TV show like Big Brother, but the contestants spend the game locked into an old Concentration Camp in the Cambodian jungle where 10,000 inmates were slaughtered by the insane camp Commandant. Said Commandant, of course, returns from beyond the grave to slaughter them too... Quite well done, not that remarkably scary, with a minimum of special effects (a good thing in a film like this), it's wonderfully atmospheric, and the cast (all first-time actors, apparently) are excellent.

Now, somebody do it for real!

Attack the Block. Meh. As someone else suggested, I'd have preferred the aliens won than have that bunch of characters be treated as heroes.

Deadgirl. Ooh.. Ah... disturbing. Probably quite good, but my prevailing impression is... disturbing. Well made, certainly.

The Dead , the most boring zombie film i vie ever watched , pity really they tried to be different from the standard zombie films, guess its more of a thinking mans film , i like my zombie films to be action ones, it as a long way to go to beat Resident Evil 3d film for being the worst zombie film i have watched.

Problem with the film its so so slow and no real plot a part from 2 men trying to get home to there loved ones and sod all really happens in the nearly 2 hours, but hats off to the guys who made it, who are British for trying to be different.

Attack the Block film i am going to watch that some time, have seen bits of the film and doesn't look that good, for some reason the Brit films have been poor of late, last Brit film i liked was Collen a ultra low budget film, mind you loads of films from the US have been poor as well.

Dead girl was a good film in a disturbing way.

Contagion (2011) version
Avoid like the plague, pun intended thought this film was made by the SCI FI channel, in other words slow, boring and not a lot happens in it.

Pirates of the Caribbean; On Stranger Tides.

Hmmm... yeah, well, OK, still fun, but by a long way the poorest of the series. It's been done, move on.

The Thing reboot/prequel what ever.

Its a not a bad film but a lot of the film kind of follows the script from the second remake with K Russel, they replaced the hero with a female version, considering its the prequel to the K Russel version, why copy most of the K Russel film , that for me kind of tuck some of the fun out of the film a little, but its still worth watching if you like horror films only the ending was sightly different and you do get to see more of the alien in the prequel .
