I've always said Steph is a waste of BBC talent as she isn't on screen enough and when she is, it's for all of 10-20mins in total if it's a good day

Terrible idea, she's not got a bad bod but I couldn't look at that face all morning.

Thee BBC normally promote from within Raworth, Williams and Reid all came through the ranks, but one thing I am sure of is it will not be Minchin, Nugent or McGovern.

Just to confuse the heck out of you all, I've split a load of discussion about Susanna's replacement into a new thread. Presenter threads are for the individual presenters, not a general chinwag.

If Steph McGovern gets Susanna's old job I would love to see Rebecca Meehan get Steph's business role!

Totally agree with you about Mrs Fritz but I reckon they'd give Steph's role over to either one of the 2 males or maybe Susan Streeter

It was nice to see Steph as a main presenter however I really can't see her being given the role permanently, it's right that the BBC usually promote from within so you've got to be looking at someone who is already employed by them. I still believe that Louise Minchin will be the new main presenter - she's been the "bridesmaid" for too long now & this has got to be her moment to step into the breach. This would give the BBC the chance to bed in her eventual replacement as the new end of week/weekend presenter. The question is - who is that going to be? At the moment it seems that this could come from a list including Sally Nugent, Naga Munchetty or even Steph Mcgovern. If Sally or Steph are given the role then they would obviously relinquish their specialist subject roles. I would expect Catherine Downes to get the sport & I'd love to see Sally Bundock doing the business reporting. However they could bring in a rising star from the news channel (how about Sophie Long for instance) or really shock us all by picking up someone like Helen Fospero to do the job, after all she is available and no stranger to proper journalism! The answer I'm sure will arrive in due course........

Totally agree with on Helen Fospero & Kat Downes but personally can't see it happening as I doubt the BBC would go for a female overload. I reckon Business reporting will go to one of the 2 males as u don't see any females replacin Steph when she not doin it.

not Susannah Reid ? on BBC ? I thought she was on the ITV network morning prog? must be another Susannah presumably
