So true, that's why it'll never work but I guess they'll never bow to the viewer pressure... GMB will be forever labelled in the same bracket as its former predecessors.

I have watched a few times now and its going the way of what's gone before. On the up side, Hawkins and Reid on the same channel is a real bonus as no more channel hopping between Sky News and Breakfast. Long may it continue, well until the next revamp.

I noticed it on BBC Breakfast and found it off-putting. It was a relief when they'd go and do the biz slot with Steph or sport with Sally to get her off the screen for 5 mins.

Much better today with Charlotte 'in charge' and Ranvir providing the news. Replace Ben Sheppard with Dan Lobb and I think they'd have a much stronger line up.

People weren't fond of Dan either.

Honestly out of all this, I hope Charlotte is saved, the others can drown. Totally awful show, so awful, I can't even bear to tune in to see its awfulness.

It's what gaz said, he nailed it.

One of the papers had viewing data, Thursday, no Charlotte so it was Reid and Garra, lowest viewing figures for the week, Friday, Charlotte in charge, no Reid, highest number of viewers since it started.

Seems 'The Star' is a bit of a turn off.

Not surprised at all, I predicted that would happen when it was announced Susannah would switch to a 4 day week once GMB took off... As for KG hardly surprising especially when all GMB has recycled pretty much 80% of Daybreak and GMTV

It's been said before on here but it's the adverts that are the biggest problem on any itv breakfast show.People turn over to bbc when ads come on and don't bother switching back.

Harsh but true there is no denying it that GMB was doomed before it even took off the ground especially following on in the same vain as Daybreak

They are one of the reasons, others are the showbiz nonsense and all the silly competitions.

I only watch it when the HD feed on BBC goes over to Local, then tend to get sucked into the car crash TV- Richard Arnold, Unfunny. Andy Peters round holiday camps, dreadful. Suzanna reid was fine when she was fittest person on the programme now she just looks a bag of nerves. The adverts before the weather make it like cheesey tinpot local radio. The ben shepard hand overs to local news are excruciating, and worse when stapleton smirks away when he fills in. also the logo is bad on the old plasma I Have no idea what demographic iTV are chasing but BBC doesnt have to change a thing at the moment.

To be fair the beeb also does showbiz type stuff after 08:30/09:00 as well and nowadays seems to be running trailers of the interviews at sundry points earlier in the programme. Sadly the adverts just seem to go and on forever.

Presumably ITV is showing ads for the maximum amount of time allowed at the maximum frequency possible to supposedly make the most amount of money. :?: In which case I fail to understand why they employ so many camera operators. In one of the GMB threads there was an overhead shot showing no less than five cameras each with an operator. I'm sure I read some write up about the breakfast show when it was based in London that said they used three cameras but only used one camera operator to save costs. I assume the BBC is still using a similar system.

Perhaps ITV should consider the merits of running a leaner (cheaper) GMB operation and reducing the amount of ads? After all the alternative of running kiddies shows with ads instead of GMB etc. will probably bring in less income? Do we have somebody knowledgeable who could comment on the feasibility?

No real surprise, it was doomed before it took off, I guess Susannah will go the same way as Bleakley, Crosby & Kaplinsky
You could tell the end was on its way when all the old presenters(which had been put out to pasture, as they were of no use anymore) started to appear again.

I just find it annoying with all that gumph on the bottom of the screen.

It is the format that seems wrong somehow to me, two main presenters on the BBC manage easily to present a NEWS programme with guests whereas the ITV seems overstaffed yet conveys little in the way of news but more in the way of showbiz!. As said the strip across the screen is a distraction, plus the adverts, and the presenters are chopping and changing from desk to sofa etc, I flip over from the BBC and usually land on a commercial break so change channels back again! Not sure what the answer is though, the presenters themselves are OK on their own but it seems just a mix up like channel fives The Wright Stuff which again annoys me so I don't watch it either!
We all thought Susanna might regret her move though, and we appear to be correct alas.

Pete.

Theres two big problems - the content is yet again is obsessed with lighweight stories and showbiz nonsense. When they try and cover weighty topics its impossible to take them seriously, and then they follow it up with the Wheel of Trash. Other big problem is the presenters and the way they act. Stop those annoying little chats to each other, chopping and changing from one person to next. If they are going to have that many people Hawkins should be the newsreader, Sheppard and Reid do the interviews and sports bloke should stick to the sports (and stop randomly giving sport stories in the middle of the news). They need to start looking and acting more professional if they want to be taken seriously.
And those links to local news are toe curling.

Its exactly the same show as before, all they do is change the studio and presenters but keep the actual content the same.

You dont get 'Wheel of Cash' on Sky or BBC because nobody wants to see that shit at 6am. And why do they always look to America for tv ideas? US tv is absolute shite. Susanna Reid wasnt popular on BBC because she was good at her job, she was popular because she sat on a sofa wearing short, tight skirts and dresses, a bit of early morning totty, flashing her draws. She isnt very good at the actual job and certainly not worth her salary.

And how does that t**t Eron Gordon keep getting the job of producing the show when it fails every single time? He was all over Twitter before it started, 'Im producing it, its going to be good, go me', it starts, its shite and he hasnt been on Twitter since.

According to the papers they only need 600,000 viewers to be happy with the ratings, which they were already getting on daybreak and were pissing all over that figure with GMTV.
