Yes, that's my experience, too. Also, it seems only to be during what I presume to be peak usage hours (i.e. evening). At the moment it seems OK

Having the same trouble, seems to take an age to connect when switching between topics. As said above, page loads quickly enough when it eventually does.

Re: Downtime/Maintenance Info Thread
could you please be more specific on how the delay is showing up? do you see anything loading? for example with firefox: Do you see anything happening in the lower left corner when the "slowness" occures? If yes, what do you see? I might have an idea if that is the case.
Thanks for helping with this.
If you are wondering why the heck I am not complaining or seeing any problems: I have a rather freakin fast internet connection, and things realy have to get pretty shitty for me to notice any difference in terms of speed. so thanks for any help from the guys who are experiencing the trouble =)

Re: Downtime/Maintenance Info Thread
When I do see a delay on Firefox (and I'm not right now), I get the spinning black anticlockwise symbol up on the tab, signifying it's trying to connect to the site. Nothing shows on the screen at this point (or the previous site stays visible). When it does connect, the spinning green clockwise symbol (d/l data) only appears a few seconds before all the text appears pretty much at once. Pics then stream onto the page, usually within a second or less per pic - so it can take a bit of time to fully load a very busy page. My connection is pretty crappy, usually only 1.5 Mb or less (it's really shifting tonight, almost 2.5!)

Re: Downtime/Maintenance Info Thread
What I do get, and it's been happening for months now, is Imagebam images failing to show up.When I click on a pic on a page here, it'll load up the Imagebam page with no image, think about it for a while, then say "right, that's it, I'm finished", and I get no image. If I try again in 5 minutes, it's fine. It only seems to happen with Imagebam...

Re: Downtime/Maintenance Info Thread
It seems to be waiting for the ads more than anything. When the delays occur it always says it's waiting for the ad site to load. Then the ads appear and the forum loads very quickly after that.I think it's the ad sites that are slow at responding and in my experience so far,the forum page doesn't load until the ads appear.I have to disable my flash player becasuse thr banner flash add chews my bandwidth on a slow connection but i think it's still trying to connect to it in the first place.I'm using firefox at the moment.

Re: Downtime/Maintenance Info Thread
I've had no problem the last couple of days but, when it does happen, I get (in Firefox) "Connecting"in the top tab, and "Waiting for tscelebs.co,uk" in the bottom bar. The connection either times out (rarely) or just hangs.

Re: Downtime/Maintenance Info Thread
Hi Guys, I have no problems with regard to network speed. But i have been seeing some replication of posts within threads. I have only seen a few so far but if this is happening across the forum then surely this will take up unnessiciry space on the server and posiblly slow it down. The ones i have seen are pages 3 and 4 in Jo Kents thread and pages 3 and 6 on Hannah Baymans thread. I will keep an eye out for any others.
Let me know if im barking up the wrong tree and i'll go and get my bone.

hey thanks for the info, but I dont think that that is causing any trouble. The server is too strong for that. But thanks anywaysJasesun wrote:Hi Guys, I have no problems with regard to network speed. But i have been seeing some replication of posts within threads. Re: Downtime/Maintenance Info Thread
Response has been between god-awful slow and conpletely frozen today, but when a page finally loads it does so very quickly. Even tried IE (normally use Firefox), but with the same result. Just spinning symbol on tab plus "waiting for tscelebs.co.uk" at the foot of the window.
I agree about the ad servers holding up thumbnail loading, but I don't think there's anything we can do about that!

Re: Downtime/Maintenance Info Thread
That was due to the hosts taking the server offline for some upgrades.

Re: Downtime/Maintenance Info Thread
since this last post seems to have gotten deleted during the move:
We are now on a new server, which is only for this forum. Speed should be a lot better now and is not supposed to change any soon. (unless the forum grows fast)
Sorry for the past slow time.
Hope this is better now.
Regards
