Most of you will have noticed that the ITV regional news was a bit different yesterday. West/Westcounty green-screened in their normal backdrop, Calendar perched on some desks in the newsroom & Central appeared to be coming from the foyer of their building. As Bic Basher noted in Nina Hossain's thread, there is change coming.
It rather low-key, but ITV are re-branding from Monday. There will be new continuity, graphics and sets for local news. Anyone prepared to be against the widespread appearance of desks?
I think everything regional goes live with the 18:00 bulletins.
Also new names for bulletins. Out goes London and The West Country Tonight for the generic itvNEWS London and itvNEWS West Country.
London Tonight and Channel Report are staying with their existing sets until Monday as they have the facilities to hold both sets together without disruption.

I see ITV London News have a new desk.
And is horrendous. The new opening titles are sensory overload too.

The West Country set was completely struck from the news studio (https://twitter.com/IanAxton/status/289785938610098176" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and then seemingly reinstalled exactly as it was, but with blue gels on the wash lights. Oh, and Cordy is sat in the wrong place.
I see what you mean about the titles. Not a pleasant intro.
Could be worse. Probably.

Real life gets complicated at times, so I'm not capping much at the moment.

I think viewers outside London are slightly better off. Central for once had a full length view of Kate Fisher's legs, while London now has a virtual reality Ikea nightmare with the faux window, that stupid desk and the rest. ITN got it so right with the VR copy of the old LT studio, all they had to do was change it to blue and job done. Instead we get a cheap C4 News style set.

That's rather generous. The C4 News desks (and camera angles) are much more accommodating of capping.
Fair enough!
